Autor de “Amor à Vida” é chamado de “racista” por pedir que personagem corte o cabelo
Como se não bastassem as diversas polêmicas dentro da trama de “Amor à Vida” (Globo), a novela continua causando mais fora da tela.
Desta vez, o autor Walcyr Carrasco é alvo de uma briga nas redes sociais onde está sendo acusado de racismo.
O motivo da encrenca é o corte de cabelo do personagem Jayminho (Kayke Gonzaga), menino que está sendo adotado pelo casal gay do folhetim, Niko (Thiago Fragoso) e Eron (Marcelo Antony).
Logo nas primeiras aparições na novela, Jayminho surgiu em um orfanato, com o cabelo estilo black power.
O autor pediu que o cabelo do menino fosse cortado para marcar sua nova fase na novela, já adotado, com novas roupas, nova família e novo visual.
A partir de então começaram a surgir na web uma série de críticas à atitude de Walcyr, que foi para o Twitter defender-se e acabou sendo mais atacado ainda.
Muita gente chamou Walcyr de “racista” e questionou qual o problema dele com o cabelo de afrodescendentes. Irritado, o autor chegou a ameaçar tirar o personagem da novela.
“Eu pedi para mudar o visual do garoto porque ele foi adotado. Isso corresponde ao sonho do público. O público reclama que uma criança adotada não ganhe um novo visual e de fato não tem sentido manter Jayminho com a aparência igual a que tinha no orfanato. Se uma criança num orfanato é adotada, se espera que ela ganhe brinquedos, roupas legais, cabeleireiro, enfim, um novo visual que corresponda ao fato de estar sendo criado em outra condição social”, disse Walcyr ao blog.
“Tinha sentido o Niko adotar o menino e deixar com as mesmas roupas e cabelo? Foi isso que eu disse, jamais me referi ao tipo de cabelo, de corte, ou a questão dele ser negro. Eu só pedi um menino negro justamente para estimular a adoção inter-racial. Se eu fosse racista, não teria criado um personagem negro. Nem escrito “Xica da Silva”, “A Padroeira”. O público quer sim, a ascensão social do garoto, se for órfão. Seja negro ou branco” fala o autor.
Vale lembrar que esse é o segundo “problema de cabelo” da novela. A primeira confusão foi em torno da personagem de Marina Ruy Barbosa raspar ou não o cabelo para viver uma jovem com câncer.
