A Globo vinha trabalhando com a ideia de oficializar em 2014 uma nova faixa de novelas dedicada a remakes de sucesso: a das 23h. Vinha. O desempenho aquém do esperado de “Saramandaia” jogou um balde de água fria nos planos da emissora.

 
Com elenco de primeira e um grande investimento em efeitos especiais, o surrealismo da trama de Dias Gomes não encantou o público agora na versão adaptada por Ricardo Linhares.

 
A Folha apurou que um dos problemas identificados pela Globo é a falta de química do casal protagonista, vivido por José Mayer e Lilia Cabral. O público não torce por eles.
