Pouco mais de um ano após a estreia do canal pago BBC HD no Brasil, a rede britânica pretende expandir seu sinal e continuar a investir em produções brasileiras.

“Queremos atingir o maior número possível de brasileiros”, diz Fred Medina, vice-presidente da BBC Worldwide para a América Latina, que negocia a entrada da BCC HD no line-up da Sky e de outras operadoras nacionais.

Hoje o canal está na grade de Net, Oi, Algar e Via Cabo.

Além da pretensão de expandir o alcance de seu conteúdo, a BBC, segundo Medina, tem interesse em produzir conteúdo brasileiro por meio de coproduções. Tais projetos não serão negociados com uma só produtora.

Anunciada ano passado, “Wild Brazil”, série brasileira da rede, já está em fase de finalização. Produzido por Lucinda Axelsson, o seriado foi filmado com tecnologia 4K (Ultra HD) e tem estreia prevista para março de 2014.

Com mais de 65 mil horas de conteúdo, a BBC, também negocia suas produções.

Além de fazer negócios com canais Globosat, a rede britânica é parceira do grupo Bandeirantes.

A BBC apresenta, nos próximos dias, novidades sobre o conglomerado, como a maior participação no ilusionista Jonathan Goodwin na grade nacional, no Showcase da América Latina 2013.
