Eurochannel pede dispensa do cumprimento de cota
A Agência Nacional do Cinema (Ancine) abriu consulta pública para analisar se o canal Eurochannel deve ou não ser dispensado das obrigações de veiculação de conteúdo audiovisual brasileiro, conforme previsto na nova lei de TV paga.
Pela legislação em vigor, o Eurochannel está classificado como canal de espaço qualificado. Com isto, é obrigado a transmitir uma cota de conteúdo nacional em sua grade de programação.
No final de maio, o canal enviou um pedido de dispensa à Ancine, alegando a necessidade de preservação de sua integridade e identidade intelectual. Outros canais interessados no pleito estão à espera da decisão do órgão.
O Eurochannel diz que foi criado para difundir a cultura europeia nos países em que é exibido. Logo, a inclusão de conteúdo não europeu na grade de programação constituiria uma quebra de sua identidade intelectual, descaracterizando a sua razão de ser.
No pedido de dispensa consta também que há problemas de ordem financeira e operacional, que impedem a inclusão de programas brasileiros na programação do Eurochannel.
A Ancine vai aguardar até dia 14 para que os interessados possam se manifestar a respeito do pedido, e só depois irá se pronunciar.

O “Esquenta”, de Regina Casé, teve a sua estada prolongada na Globo. A atração, que deveria sair do ar na metade do ano, ficará até novembro na programação.
