No folhetim de autoria de Walcyr Carrasco, Waldirene será uma moça pobre, que, incentivada pela mãe, fará qualquer coisa para se dar bem na vida. Ela tentará engravidar de pagodeiros e de jogadores de futebol famosos. Tudo sem sucesso. Mas a moça encontrará o seu caminho quando se converter a uma religião evangélica.
Essa conversão mudará a vida da personagem, que pode se transformar em uma famosa cantora gospel.
Divertida, Waldirene será vivida por uma comediante. Ingrid Guimarães e Daniele Valente chegaram a ser cotadas para o papel, mas Tatá Werneck, ex-MTV, é a forte candidata à vaga. Uma decisão ousada, pois Tatá é famosa por humor escrachado.
Mesmo com esse pé na comédia, Carrasco não quer tratar o assunto com deboche. O autor pretende mostrar que a descoberta de uma religião pode levar à concepção correta de felicidade.
Vale lembrar que a Globo vem se aproximando do público evangélico e quer retratar a religião em suas tramas.
